Land use planning

Urban planning is responsible for drawing up general plans and zoning plans to guide land use and construction, as well as other land use plans and studies.

These plans define the land and areas needed for different activities, taking into account as far as possible the requirements of the urban community, sustainable development and a high quality environment. Planning creates a framework for a functional, healthy and comfortable living environment. It aims to protect nature and the cultural and historical environment and to prevent environmental damage. Planning is about reconciling different needs and views.

The purpose of the master plan is to provide general guidance on urban structure and land use and to coordinate activities. The land-use plan and the coastal zone plan define the use of the area in more detail. The land-use plan allows for the creation of a plot of land and the construction of buildings on it.
