The traffic volumes at the Port of HaminaKotka have picked up slightly.
8.6.2026 | Total traffic at the Port of HaminaKotka in January–May amounted to 5,290,937 tonnes, which is 11.5% lower than a year earlier. However, a slight recovery can be observed in traffic volumes, reflected in the narrowing of the overall decline.
Exports decreased by 14.4% in January–May. The largest drop occurred in the category “other goods” (-54.3%). Declines were also recorded in dry bulk (-22.1%), pulp (-15.8%), liquid bulk (-11.9%), timber (-12.1%), and paper (-10.8%). In contrast, unitized cargo shipments increased (+25.1%).
Imports fell by 4.4% during the review period. Decreases were seen in raw wood (-23.8%) and unitized cargo (-5.5%). Meanwhile, growth was recorded in the categories “other goods” (+23.1%), dry bulk (+13.1%), and liquid bulk (+9.3%).
Transit traffic decreased by 23.1% compared to the previous year. Small-scale domestic traffic continued to grow (+209.1%).
Container traffic declined by 4.7% year-on-year.
A total of 733 vessels called at the port, which is 18.4% fewer than a year earlier.
