Early childhood education asks families about their plans for the Christmas season.

The City of Kotka’s early childhood education department is asking families about their need for early childhood services during the Christmas period, 22 December 2025 – 6 January 2026. The survey, conducted via an electronic form, is open in the Edlevo system from 5–16 November.

Based on the information collected from the Christmas period survey, decisions will be made regarding the number of daycare centers open between 22 December and 6 January. A sufficient number of daycare centers will be open, and according to the preliminary plan, Hovinpuisto, Katariina, Utumetsä, and Meripiiri daycare centers will be open.

The information from the Christmas period survey will also be used to plan the annual leave of early childhood education staff and to determine the scope of daycare meal services.

Parents will be informed well in advance in December about the opening hours of their daycare or any changes to its operations.
