Kotka’s Christmas opening

The whole city will be in the Christmas spirit at Kotka’s Christmas opening on Saturday 2.12.

Sparkling wines donated by Kotka’s twin town Lübeck will be distributed at the markets in Karhula and Kotka. Santa Claus will be on hand at both markets and there will be a varied programme of events on the stages. The members of the Kotka Market Street will be present with their own programmes and Christmas offers.

Check out the varied programme on the (in finnish) Kotka Market Street website

You can easily get to the event on the Kotka local bus by showing your reflector

On Saturday 2 December, Kotka’s Christmas opening day, you can travel free of charge on local transport in Kotka by showing a reflector to the bus driver. The benefit applies to journeys within the city of Kotka (zone B). If the journey continues to Hamina, the fare will be charged at the Hamina border.

The aim is to raise the Christmas spirit and ensure that everyone has access to Kotka’s Christmas opening events. It is also a reminder to travel safely, including the use of reflectors.
