A little over seven million tonnes of goods through the Port of HaminaKotka in the first half of the year

7.7.2025 | Through the Port of HaminaKotka, 7,120,800 tonnes of goods were transported in January–June, which is 4.6 percent more than at the same time last year.

During the review period, exports grew by 13.9 percent. The most growth occurred in liquid bulk (+48.4%), dry bulk (+42.3%), sawn timber (+19.4%), pulp (+13.5%), and paper (+5.4%). In exports, general cargo (-38.0%) and the category “other goods” (-35.4%) declined.

On the import side, goods handling decreased by 12.2 percent. The main reason for the decline was a 33.3 percent reduction in roundwood transports. The category “other goods” also declined (-21.0%). On the rise, however, were dry bulk (+41.7%), liquid bulk (+13.2%), and general cargo (+11.3%).

  • Transit traffic increased by 35.1 percent in the first half of the year.
  • Domestic traffic on a small scale decreased by 82.1 percent.
  • Containers handled during the six-month period increased by 14.0 percent compared to a year ago.
  • A total of 1,141 ships visited the port, which is 3.8 percent more than last year.
