Cultural Bank Makes Artists and Cultural Professionals Visible Across 14 Regions
29.9.2026 | Originally developed in the Pirkanmaa region, the Cultural Bank (Kulttuuripankki) has grown into a shared service covering 14 regions across Finland. The platform brings together arts and cultural professionals and their services in one place. Its aim is to strengthen employment opportunities in the creative sector and make it easier to find and commission arts and cultural services.
The Cultural Bank brings together professional artists and cultural practitioners as well as the services they offer. Through the platform, professionals can showcase their expertise, package their services, and reach new clients. At the same time, customers can easily find artists, cultural professionals, and services both locally and across regional boundaries.
Employment in the creative sector is often built on a variety of commissions and collaborative partnerships. The goal of the Cultural Bank is to increase the visibility of the sector and create better conditions for professional artistic and cultural work.
“The Cultural Bank helps arts and culture professionals make their expertise visible. We want to lower the threshold for finding new clients and collaboration partners while also supporting service development and entrepreneurial skills,” says Eerika Lehtinen, National Coordinator of the Cultural Bank.
The Cultural Bank is based on exceptionally extensive regional cooperation. The service was originally developed in the Pirkanmaa region and has since been expanded together with partners from other regions. Today, it connects 14 regions around a shared goal of strengthening the operating conditions of the arts and culture sector.
“The Cultural Bank is an excellent example of how regions can work together to build solutions that benefit the entire cultural sector. We want the Cultural Bank to become a nationally recognized service that is the first place people think of when looking for arts and cultural professionals or services. A shared platform increases the visibility of professionals, makes services easier to find, and strengthens the role of culture as part of vibrant municipalities and regions,” Lehtinen says.
The Cultural Bank is a free service for both arts and cultural professionals and those looking to commission services. Cultural and arts services can be searched by private individuals, municipalities, educational institutions, wellbeing services counties, associations, companies, and other organizations.
