Reflectors distributed in Kotka on Awareness Day

28.9.2026 | National Reflector Day is celebrated on 1 October, and the occasion will also be marked in Kotka as the city’s parking enforcement officers distribute reflectors across different parts of the city. A total of around 1,000 reflectors will be handed out.
In addition, the City of Kotka’s youth services will distribute reflectors on the awareness day. These reflectors have been donated by the Finnish Road Safety Council (Liikenneturva) and the Automobile and Touring Club of Finland (Autoliitto). The distribution of reflectors to young people will continue throughout the autumn.
On 1 October, youth services will also highlight the importance of reflectors for visibility and safety through their activities and social media channels.
Reflector Day is observed annually on 1 October. The campaign was launched by Liikenneturva in 2013. The purpose of the awareness day is to remind people of the importance of wearing a reflector and to encourage everyone to start the reflector season, if they have not already done so.
